Clinical Brain Tumor Research

Principal Investigators: Bertil Rydenhag, Anja Smits and  Asgeir Jakola

Clinical Brain Tumor Research focuses on optimizing the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with brain tumors. The majority of projects concern patients with glioma and consist of interventional, observational and epidemiological studies. In close collaboration with basic researchers we carry out various translational studies. The purpose of these studies is to identify biomarkers in tumor tissue and peripheral blood that can support decision making in daily clinical practice and contribute to the development of tailored treatment strategies.

The goal of the research group Clinical Brain Tumor:

  • Stimulate evidence-based research and teaching with focus on brain tumors
  • Provide a stimulating scientific environment in clinical neuro-oncology
  • Encourage interdisciplinary collaborations with basic scientists within the field
  • Improve outcomes in brain tumor patients
