Wearable sensors in smart textiles

The project Wearable sensors in smart textiles (wearITmed) is a five-year interdisciplinary collaboration project funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF), launched in July 2014.

The project aims to measure relevant motion patterns and other relevant physiological variables in Epilepsy, Parkinson's disease and Stroke using wearable sensors in a comfortable garment.
Such a garment would enable continuous measurements in the patients' normal life situation, e.g. at home. The goal of the project is that such measurements would improve diagnosis, follow-up and thus treatment of the diseases.
